After playing around with Schoology at our last gathering, I decided that "badges" are something I NEED to start implementing in my classroom. It is something so simple to give students incentives and motivate them to do their best. So that is exactly what I did.
I created a "system" for students that receive badges for a variety of reasons. At any time, if a student receives three badges they will be awarded extra credit. I also award a Student of the Month badge, at this student is awarded 5 points to his or her upcoming test. I try and make Student of the Month a big deal and let this person know how much I've appreciated his or her hard work by taking their picture and putting it on the "Student of the Month" wall. Students have received badges for things such as: volunteering to read when they normally are too shy, helping a student who is struggling with an assignment, getting the best score on a Kahoot game, and much more.

Check out the flyer Kayela Galloway and I created: www.smore.com/4frf9. We found a ton of neat presentation tools to use in the classroom. These websites will allow you and your students to add some creativity and visual appeal to presentations, and will have you hitting the Keynote snooze button. See you never, Keynote.
